Pereira’s loss to Shara Magomedov leaves him at a crossroads in a division where athletic chaos alone is not enough. The loser of Marc-Andre Barriault vs Brad Tavares fits neatly: both men are experienced, both are available after July 18, and either would give Pereira a fresh fight at roughly the same middleweight tier.

Baku did not flatten these fighters into one category. Torres still brings first-round menace, Pereira remains a volatile middleweight name, Sadykhov owns UFC wins over Evan Elder, Terrance McKinney, Ismael Bonfim and Nikolas Motta, and Johnson left Azerbaijan with an 8-7 promotional record.
