Matt Brown warns Conor McGregor before UFC 329

Matt Brown is not treating Conor McGregor’s UFC 329 return like another normal comeback date.

The retired UFC veteran said the first job for McGregor is simple: make the walk on July 11. After years of delays, cancelled plans and comeback talk, Brown believes another miss would hit differently.

“If he doesn’t make this walk, I think it’s going to be unanimous agreement he’s done and he’s never fighting again,” Brown said on The Fighter vs. The Writer.

That is a hard line, but it matches the mood around this return. McGregor has not fought since the 2021 Dustin Poirier trilogy, when a broken leg ended the fight and pushed his career into a long pause. He was later booked against Michael Chandler for UFC 303, but that fight fell apart after McGregor suffered a toe injury.

Now the Holloway rematch sits on the calendar for UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Brown sees the pressure clearly. This is no longer just another date for McGregor. It is the date where the talk has to become a real fight again.

Holloway makes the risk bigger
