The judicial history between Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov ended without a loud finale. The parties agreed before the start of the proceedings — the claim for profits from whiskey Proper No. 12 was officially closed, and one of the most discussed stories in MMA in recent years suddenly came to an end.
Dispute over Proper No. 12: 600 million and the issue of a share
At the center of the conflict was the Proper No. 12 brand, the very Irish whiskey that turned McGregor not only into a star of the octagon, but also into a serious business player.
Lobov insisted that he had helped launch the brand and was counting on 5% of its sales. We are talking about a deal in 2021, when McGregor and his partners sold the business to Proximo Spirits for an impressive $ 600 million.
According to media reports, McGregor himself received more than $ 100 million. And this is where the key point begins: for Lobov, it was a story about recognition of contributions, and for McGregor, about the absence of any agreements. Two different versions of the same story that eventually brought them to court.
Settlement without trial: what is known

The case never reached a full-fledged trial. On Wednesday, Lobov’s lawyer informed the judge that the parties had reached an agreement and the trial was no longer required.
The details of the deal were not disclosed, and this is perhaps the main question that will remain unanswered. However, the main thing can be understood from the reaction of the parties.:
- Lobov said he was “pleased with the settlement.“
- McGregor thanked him for his contribution to the business.
For a conflict that has dragged on for years, this looks like the quietest and most pragmatic ending. Without making loud statements, but with an obvious desire to close the topic.
What’s next: McGregor’s return to the UFC
Against the background of the closure of the case, McGregor has already switched to a more familiar arena for himself — fights. The Irishman confirmed that he is focused on returning to the octagon after a long hiatus caused by a leg injury in 2021.
Now everything points to his participation in the UFC 329 tournament, which will be held on July 11 in Las Vegas. This could be his first fight in five years—and one of the most anticipated comebacks in MMA.
The irony is that while one chapter in McGregor’s life is closing—with business and the courts—another is just beginning. And judging by the interest in his return, it will be no less loud.
