UFC 329 full fight card announced

mcgregor holloway

UFC 329 could have been built the lazy way. Put Conor McGregor on top, add a few familiar names underneath, and let the comeback sell the week by itself. The UFC went heavier than that. July 11 in Las Vegas now looks like a card full of fighters who are either returning, resetting, moving up, or trying to stop someone else from taking their place.

McGregor against Max Holloway still owns the poster. It has to. McGregor has not fought in the UFC since 2021, and any real return from him changes the whole summer schedule. But Holloway makes this more than a celebrity comeback. He is active, stubborn, hard to hurt, and still one of the worst fighters to meet if a man needs time to find his rhythm again.

The rematch also carries a strange kind of history. McGregor beat Holloway in 2013, when both were still climbing. Holloway went on to become one of the defining featherweights of his generation. McGregor became the biggest attraction the UFC has ever had. Now they meet again with older bodies, larger names and much less room for excuses.

UFC 329 lineup

The full card gives International Fight Week more than one reason to matter. Paddy Pimblett meets Benoit Saint Denis in the co-main event, Gable Steveson makes his UFC debut, Robert Whittaker tries light heavyweight, and several ranked divisions get fights that can shift the next few months.

  • Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2 headlines UFC 329 in Las Vegas.
  • Paddy Pimblett faces Benoit Saint Denis in the lightweight co-main event.
  • Gable Steveson makes his UFC debut against Elisha Ellison.
  • Robert Whittaker moves up to face Nikita Krylov at light heavyweight.
  • Cory Sandhagen, Mario Bautista, Brandon Royval and Cody Garbrandt are also on the card.

That mix gives the night a different feel from a normal McGregor event. The UFC is not only asking fans to watch one comeback. It is asking them to follow several career turns at once. Some are loud. Some are risky. A few could look very different by the end of the night.

Pimblett gets no soft reset

Pimblett’s fight with Saint Denis may be the most uncomfortable booking under the main event. Pimblett is still popular, still loud and still valuable to the UFC, but he now has to fight like a man who knows the conversation around him has changed. A loss makes the hype feel much thinner. A strong win gives him real ground again.

Saint Denis is exactly the kind of opponent who can make that reset painful. He does not give clean, polite rounds. He pushes forward, grapples hard, attacks with urgency and makes opponents work in places where popularity does not help. If Pimblett beats him, it will mean something. If he does not, the lightweight division will not wait around for him to rebuild his image slowly.

That is what makes the co-main event useful. It is not just a name fight. It has consequences. Pimblett needs proof. Saint Denis needs a bigger platform. UFC 329 gives both men the same cage and a very public answer.

Steveson debut brings questions

Gable Steveson’s UFC debut will get attention because Olympic gold always travels. Wrestling credentials open doors in MMA, but they do not finish the job by themselves. Steveson still has to show how he reacts to punches, cage pressure, clinch breaks and the kind of small chaos that does not exist in a wrestling match.

Elisha Ellison has a simple chance here. Most people will watch the fight to judge Steveson. That gives Ellison a chance to become more than the other name in the debut. If he can make Steveson uncomfortable early, the whole mood around the fight changes.

Whittaker’s move to light heavyweight has a different kind of interest. He spent years as one of the best middleweights in the world. At 205 pounds, he gets Nikita Krylov, a bigger and more dangerous opponent than anyone should want for a gentle first step. Whittaker has the skill, but Krylov has the size and the kind of finishing threat that can make a new weight class feel real very quickly.

Las Vegas gets a layered card

UFC 329 also has movement in the smaller divisions. Cory Sandhagen vs Mario Bautista gives bantamweight another serious fight. Brandon Royval vs Lone’er Kavanagh keeps flyweight active. Cody Garbrandt vs Adrian Yanez gives two bantamweights a chance to pull themselves away from a bad stretch.

That is why the card feels stronger than the usual comeback package. McGregor will bring the largest audience, but the rest of the lineup has enough danger to create its own stories. Holloway can spoil the return. Saint Denis can damage Pimblett’s rebound. Steveson can either start loudly or find out that MMA does not care about medals once the punches start.

International Fight Week now has a card with several pressure points. McGregor is the biggest one, but he is not the only one. UFC 329 has old history, new debuts, weight-class experiments and fighters trying to keep their names from becoming someone else’s breakthrough.
